Ubuntu revisited
I have been running Ubuntu for a couple of weeks now and it has been great. I should have moved away from Microsoft a long time ago. So far there is nothing that I did with Windows that I have not been able to do with Ubuntu. I have not given up any capability and my system runs faster and has not crashed once. In the two weeks since I installed Ubuntu I have added fonts, installed a Flickr uploader, found an application that will sync my music and podcasts to my iPod, and installed a firewall. I really cannot think of a reason why anyone would not want to switch from XP to Ubuntu. I especially cannot think of a reason why anyone would spend the money on a Vista upgrade when Ubuntu will run on your existing hardware and provide all the capability of Vista and more. For all those who say that Ubuntu is more difficult to install and configure than Vista I say baloney. In fact the opposite if actually the truth. So long live Ubuntu and I think it is time for Microsoft to find something else to develop and market besides another OS.
