No more bibles in major hotel chains

Well, it has happened again. The good of the few outweighs the good of the many. Remember when you could count on finding a bible in any hotel room in the country? That bible was courtesy of Gideons International. The Gideons are dedicated to Bible distribution and evangelism. To quote the Gideons web site:

“The Gideons International serves as an extended missionary arm of the church: Our sole purpose is to win men, women, boys and girls to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through association for service, personal testimony, and distributing the Bible in the human traffic lanes and streams of everyday life.”

But now it seems some Muslims and other religions are complaining that there are no Korans or L. Ron Hubbard books in the hotels so why should there be bibles. The hotels are discriminating against other religions. Those evil hotels, don’t you just hate them? But wait a minute here, it’s not the hotels that are putting the bibles in the rooms, it is Gideons International that is putting the bibles in the rooms at no cost to the hotels.  Instead of pulling bibles out of the hotels why don’t hotel owners use some common sense and say to the Muslims and Scientologists: We would love to have Korans and L. Ron Hubbard books in our hotels, why don’t you just put us in touch with some organizations that can provide them to us free of charge, just as the Gideons do. There is room right next to the bibles for them. But that is not the point the Muslims and others who are making the complaint are trying to make. They don’t want Korans and L. Ron Hubbard books in hotels, they just don’t want bibles in the hotels. It is all part of the attack on Christianity that has been going on for years. It is all part of the intolerance that some Muslims and other religious fanatics exhibit every day. It could just as easily have been the other way around, with Christians complaining about Korans in hotel rooms. But the fact that it is not speaks volumes to me about the intolerance of some towards anything that is not about them. So if I can find a list of hotels who have given in to this religious intolerance and pulled bibles out of their hotels, I will be sure to avoid staying with them. I would rather stay at a KOA campground.
