The hypocrisy of Hamas and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The ongoing rocket attacks on Israel by Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups and the subsequent attempts by the Israeli military to prevent the attacks has once again escalated hostilities to the point of all out war. What I find disturbing is the hypocrisy of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas when he compares the Israeli attempts to stop the attacks as the ‘new holocaust’ and genocide. It is unfortunate that innocent Palestinian lives are being lost due to the Israeli military strikes against Hamas and those launching rockets at Israeli civilian populations. But the difference is that Israel is not deliberately attempting to kill Palestinian civilians, unlike Hamas which is targeting only Israeli civilians. The only reason that many more innocent Israeli civilians have not been killed or wounded is the inaccuracy of the rockets, not the lack of effort on the part of Hamas to kill them. The reason that so many Palestinian civilians are being killed or injured is because Hamas insists on launching rockets from their own populated areas. Hamas and the other Palestinian terrorist organizations use civilians as human shields as a matter of military strategy. And it has proven an effective, albeit deadly tactic that has prevented Israel from silencing the rain of rockets that are falling on Israeli cities. The real blame for Palestinian civilians being killed falls on Hamas and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for not stopping the attacks on Israel. Would any country in the world, if their cities were being attacked daily, react any differently than Israel? The only thing that will prevent further loss of innocent life is for Hamas to limit its attacks to only military targets and stop using its own population as a weapon against Israel.

You do realise Israel actually ARE firing at civilians? With or without Hamas rockets (even though I don’t aprove of ANYONE firing rockets) Ithe blockade would continue and srael would still be depriving the Palestinians of food and clothing, and would still be firing at them. This conflict has been going on for 60 years in recent history and Hamas have been in power since 2005. How can you say Israel don’t aim at civillans when they aim at hospitals and schools. This is not trying to get rid of Hamas – they are using Hamas as an excuse to use white prospherous (illegal warfare by the way) on schools full of children. Hamas were a democratically elected government and because they provide the schools, hospitals and police forces Israel feel it is justified in bombing these places and the only people they kill are civilians.
You only have to look at Israel’s reasons for pushing a whole population into a strip of land (25 miles long and 5 miles wide) to see this is wrong. This reason is Zionism – you can tell by their actions that they were not looking for a two state solution – they are looking for one Israeli state and this does not include the Palestinian people. We go on about Muslim extremism and ignore this extremism.
The fact that Israel have pushed those on to Gaza and the West Bank and as a result made those places the most densely populated places in the world. This means that when Israel kill 1300 innocent civilians in the space of 2 weeks they can go ‘oopse we missed’.
You go and tell a Palestinian child that it’s ‘unfortunate’ he is hungry, he can’t have paper to do his school work, that he cannot live without the fear of death, that his family have been killed.
I think from looking at the evidence (UN reports ect) I’m afraid to say that Israel just might be using this conflict as an excuse for genocide.
