The real Obama is slowly revealed.
First were the comments Senator Obama made about bitter working class voters who “cling to guns or religion.” Those comments were made at a private fund raiser in San Francisco.
It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
Those comments were widely criticized as condescending, elitist and demeaning. Now Senator Obama wants to speak in front of Germany’s Brandenburg Gate, one of the most revered landmarks in Germany. The gate stood for 28 years behind the Berlin Wall in communist East Germany‘s heavily fortified border zone. German chancellor Angela Merkel has expressed unease over Senator Obama using the Brandenburg Gate for a campaign speech. Two famous speeches by U.S. Presidents used the gate as a backdrop. The first was John Kennedy’s famous Berlin speech and the second was Ronald Reagan’s famous “tear down this wall” speech.
According to a spokesperson for the chancellor the gate has become “a place with a particular exclusivity, intensity and symbolism” in view of past speeches by sitting U.S. presidents and events such as a large rally in solidarity with the United States after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Chancellor Merkel has voiced “great skepticism as to whether it is appropriate to bring an election campaign being fought not in Germany but in the United States to the Brandenburg Gate.” The spokesperson for Chancellor Merkel continued.
“No German (chancellor) candidate would think of using (Washington’s) National Mall or Red Square in Moscow for rallies, because it would be considered inappropriate.”
Apparently Senator Obama does not share the views of the German chancellor. He thinks it is a perfectly acceptable place to hold a campaign speech. He obviously equates his proposed speech at the Brandenburg Gate as being equal in importance to the past speeches of Presidents’ Kennedy and Reagan. Historical precedence takes a back seat to Senator Obama’s campaign plans and efforts to garner votes.
One of Senator Obama’s campaign promises is to restore the United States good standing around the world. Yet here he plans to go against the wishes of the Chancellor of Germany. The closer we get to the 2008 election the more Senator Obama’s real nature will be revealed. And it will not be a pretty sight.

That is a good post. Mr. Obama is a bad choice and his supporters cannot even tell you what he stands for.
