Russian Professor clueless about U.S. and it’s people
I hope that the leadership of Russia has better experts on foreign matters than the professor at the diplomatic academy of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview that the United States foreign debt “ has grown like an avalanche; this is a pyramid, which has to collapse.” Professor Panarin further said that the U.S. financial crisis will worsen, unemployment will rise and people will lose their savings – factors that will cause the country’s breakup.
Professor Panarin apparently has a large supply of vodka which I feel he has been dipping into much too frequently. This is a man who is apparently an expert on foreign matters yet does not have a clue about the real United States and it’s citizens. While it may be true that our financial crisis may worsen and that unemployment may rise and people are losing their life savings, it is fanciful to infer that this will lead to the collapse of the United States. Just listen to some of the ridiculous comments this ‘expert’ made.
Dissatisfaction is growing, and it is only being held back at the moment by the elections, and the hope that President-elect Barack Obama can work miracles. But when the spring comes, it will be clear that there are no miracles.
But the biggest laugh comes when he predicts that the U.S. will fracture into six parts: the Pacific coast: the South: Texas: the Atlantic coast, central states and the northern states. Professor Panarin needs to check out a few history books from one of our libraries and read the real history of this country. If he did he would realize that this country has been through much tougher times than this and has always rebounded and gone on to better times. Maybe then he would realize how ridiculous his statements are. Texas as one of the six parts of the split? My sides are hurting from laughing.
While conditions such as he describes may have led to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States and it’s people are made of much stronger stuff. Our country will be around for a long time to come and although it may not be the leading economic power in the future it will certainly be a much stronger country than Russia ever will. So go have another shot of vodka Professor Panarin. A little hair of the dog that bit you may clear your head some.

Everybody is trying to capitalize off of America’s struggles – it’s the nature of the beast. Some are just better at it than others.
Professor Panarin, being from a socialist nation, apparently does not know how to properly ‘capitalize’ on our plight, or else he might form some theories based in truth…or something like it.
Real conservatives understand economic booms and busts as well as the American spirit, so we’re just doing our best to ride it out and build wealth in spite of what’s going on.
