Proselytising can be a true pest and tends to put people off rather than converting them. Also, not all Christians believe that Heaven is a literal destination. Some Christians' obsession with securing a ticket to heaven may even prevent them from focussing on what they should focus on as true Christians: to make the world a better place. Also: it it highly doubt if proselytising ever works on atheists, who would more likely get annoyed and confirm their stereotypes about Christians. If proselytising doesn't work, and if it rather pushes people away than brings them closer, then the proselytising Christians may be pushing the atheists closer to Hell rather than saving them.
