I wonder if Netflix is actually a Ponzi scheme. They charge their users a fixed price (must average around $10/mo), but what are their costs? Do they pay the content providers based on number of downloads? If so, increased usage will force them to either raise their subscription rate or go bankrupt. But fixed rates seem to work for the wireless phone providers, so maybe the model will work for Netflix as well. But what is to stop Amazon from adopting the same model, when they finally notice that Netflix is becoming dominant?
